How to write a good bio
Since working from home, we have all taken on long overdue improvement projects. Abbie has gotten a new air conditioner and making plans for a new kitchen countertop, Alison is remodeling her master bathroom, and I have decided to finally finish decorating my apartment – one year after moving in.
But our homes aren’t the only thing getting a refresher, Team HMA is in the works of giving our website a fresh new look, and along with that comes an updated bio.
Ironically enough, I have been helping a client with drafting new bios for their team members, but when it came to my own I found it harder to get started. Here are a few tips that helped me get started:
- This is probably a no brainer, but an easy point is beginning with your name followed by your title and then outlining responsibilities.
- Next, weave in details about your education, work achievements, volunteer experiences and any all the other details that show your qualifications.
- Lastly, remember to be human and have a little fun. It’s ok to show a little personality and help the reader to truly get to know you.
Be sure to keep an eye out for a new look around here.
