Where Have All the Arizonans Gone?
Summers in Phoenix are one of the quickest ways to evacuate nearly the entire city. There’s no need to harp on the heat, we all know it’s hot. In addition to the high temperatures, it’s natural for workloads to lighten up a bit as vacation requests increase.
With a vacation in my near future and being my first summer in Phoenix, I began to wonder, where exactly are all of these people going and should I be going there, too?!
Enter TripAdvisor, my handy-dandy travel specialist. Although the most recent list I was able to find was compiled in 2016, I don’t think that the destinations have changed all that much in a year’s time. In addition to naming the 10 most popular summer vacation rental destinations among Arizonans, they’ve put together a helpful chart comparing prices and the number of properties listed at each location.
According to this article and from the information I’ve gathered from locals, California is the place to be once the temperatures start creeping up. In fact, six out of the 10 destinations that made the list happen to be in the Golden State. So without further ado, the list!
- San Diego
- Oceanside
- Carlsbad
- Newport Beach
- Flagstaff
- La Jolla
- Pinetop-Lakeside
- Sedona
- Anaheim
- Lincoln City, Ore.
That’s right, in an unexpected turn of events, Oregon has slid its way into the 10th spot! With this laid out in front of me, I’m saddened to admit that I’ve only been to two of these locations so far. I need to get moving! And by the way, my summer vacation spot this year is Long Lake Township, Mich.
If there is a vacation spot that you and your family love to travel to during the Arizona summers, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
