Merriam-Webster Takes on 30-Day Challenge
If you’re an avid Instagram user like me, you may have noticed a trend of 30-day challenges taking over Instagram stories. While some frankly got annoying over the course of a month (I’m looking at you, 30-Day Song Challenge), others have taken a more educational route.
Merriam-Webster announced it was hopping on the trend, introducing a 30-day word challenge to encourage its followers to test their knowledge. Word challenges range from a word that makes you happy to more difficult challenges like finding a word that rhymes with your name.
To attempt the challenge for yourself, all you need to do is share or screenshot the post to your Instagram story every day, circling the day you’re on and including your selection. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, Merriam-Webster’s Instagram page features a new word each day, including a definition and detailed examples.

It’s refreshing to see Merriam-Webster finding ways to stay up-to-date with current social media trends and actively seeking new opportunities to engage younger followers in expanding their vocabulary.
