For All You Grammar Girls and Boys
I am a sucker for online quizzes. When Buzzfeed hit it big a few years ago, I would binge on the quizzes that were posted on its website. I still love indulging in them; however, I’ve been able to curb my enthusiasm and may only feel the urge once or twice weekly, if at all—I’m much more selective now.
Knowing what you know now, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that my eyes were immediately drawn to a quiz I saw while browsing through PR Daily last week—commonly misused or misspelled words.
Having an English degree and working in the public relations profession has set me up with a sometimes false sense of confidence in my grammar. There are rules that will always stick with me and then there are others that, no matter how often I read up on them, will eventually get lost in the detritus of untapped knowledge I store in my brain. Needless to say, I had to take this quiz!
Although I fared pretty well, I must warn you that numbers three, five and eight threw me for a loop. So now I challenge you, PR pros, to take PR Daily’s commonly misused and misspelled words quiz. If you do, share you results below in the comments! I’d love to hear how you did and/or which numbers you found most difficult.
