The Arizona Association for Economic Development to Host Rural Housing Symposium

(PHOENIX – Dec. 23, 2021) – The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will host a virtual Rural Housing Symposium Jan. 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

Tim Suan, Committee Chair and Deputy Town Manager for the Town of Wickenburg, said the two-day symposium will cover a number of key topics, including an overview of the current state of housing, community and regional solutions, how to leverage data, workforce housing housing solutions, housing programs & resources, and the overall importance of housing to a community.

“Housing is playing a pivotal role in the overall economic success of every community. This makes housing the most important topic in the state of Arizona. This one-of-a-kind symposium has come at a pivotal time to bring together citizens, elected officials, stakeholders, businesses, non-profits, developers and partners from across the state to provide actionable steps to communities both big and small providing solutions for the State’s most challenging economic issue.”

In addition to Suan, the Day One keynote presentation will be provided by Evelyn Causga, director of community and economic prosperity for the Center for Future of Arizona, and Mary Chicoine, executive director for the Verde Valley Economic Council, while Tom Simplot, director of the Arizona Department of Housing, will provide the keynote on Day Two.
