Tamara Zach and Meghan Shapiro Elected to Jewish Family & Children’s Service Governance Board
(PHOENIX, Dec. 15, 2021) Tamara Zach and Meghan Shapiro have been elected to serve a three-year term on the Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) Governance Board. JFCS is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that strengthens the community by providing behavioral health, healthcare and social services to all ages, faiths, and backgrounds.
“The foundation of our organization is to improve and strengthen the Valley community by offering integrated health services,” said JFCS president and CEO Dr. Lorrie Henderson. “Adding Meghan and Tamara to the Governance Board means a heightened focus on improving the physical and behavioral health of the individuals we serve.”
The role of the Governance Board is to carry out JFCS’ mission to strengthen the community by providing quality behavioral health and social services to people of all faiths and all ages, in accordance with a Jewish value system that cares for all humanity.
Zach is a Pediatric Neurology director for Banner Health Medical Center and an Attending for Banner Pediatric Specialists at the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Arizona. Zach has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Phoenix Magazine and is currently a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society.
Shapiro is Chief Operations Officer of Hospital Operations for Laboratory Sciences of Arizona/Sonora Quest Laboratories. She is responsible for providing oversight, leadership and strategic direction for hospital, rapid response and commercial laboratories supporting Banner Health Hospitals, Academic Medical Centers and Cancer Centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of directors for the American Heart Association of Greater Phoenix.
Zach and Shapiro join other board members including Chairman Janice Dinner, Vice Chairman Edward Ober, Secretary Pam Meyer, Vicki Cabot, Marc Giannone, Carol Kern, Ken Miller, Karen Owens, Dr. Jeffrey Packer, Dr. Paul E. Stander and Rick Wolf.
