Sun Corridor Inc. Wins Golden Prospector Award Recognizing Excellence in Economic Development

(PHOENIX, Sept. 20, 2016) Sun Corridor Inc. has earned a Golden Prospector Award from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) for “Deal of the Year.”

The Golden Prospector awards recognize excellence, innovation and creativity in economic development.

Sun Corridor Inc. was honored for its work on the relocation to Tucson of the Caterpillar Surface Mining & Technology Division’s regional headquarters.

With 635 jobs, an average salary of $92,000 and a projected $45 million capital expenditure, the Tucson region will experience a five-year economic impact of $652 million.

Overall, 11 Golden Prospector Awards and seven awards of merit were presented at AAED’s fall forum in Flagstaff.
