‘Strengthening Your Economic Development Toolbox’ To Be Discussed At AAED’s 2018 Fall Forum

(FLASTAFF, Ariz. – Sept. 10, 2018)  – The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will hold a Fall Forum to discuss “Strengthening Your Economic Development Toolbox.”   The conference will be held Oct. 17-19 at Little America Hotel in Flagstaff.

The conference is recognized by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) as a professional development event that counts toward the recertification of Certified Economic Developers (CEcD).

On Thursday, Oct. 18, Dr. Rita Cheng, president of Northern Arizona University, will present a luncheon program on “What NAU Can Put in Your Toolkit.”

Among the other educational sessions at the conference will be:

  • “Potential Funding for Economic Development Office Success”
  • “Understanding and Navigating Arizona’s Medical Marijuana Industry”

  • “From Tourism to Business Development – Case Studies in Business Attraction”
  • “’New Tool’ – Opportunity Zones”
  • “Local First Overcoming Economic Development Challenges in Rural Communities”
  • “Tribal Roundtable”

Additionally, AAED will present its Golden Prospector Awards honoring successful economic development programs from around the state.
