Scottsdale Wins Two Golden Prospector Awards Recognizing Excellence in Economic Development
(PHOENIX, Sept. 20, 2016) The city of Scottsdale has won two Golden Prospector Awards from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED), recognizing excellence, innovation and creativity in economic development.
Scottsdale’s “Swipe Right Scottsdale” special event and its “JDA Software” deal of the year earned top honors.
The “Swipe Right Scottsdale” campaign was created to educate brokers, start-up companies and opinion leaders about Scottsdale as a good place to live, work and do business. The campaign was highly successful in garnering media attention and getting people to talk about Scottsdale as more than just a great place to visit.
The retention of JDA Software, a company founded and headquartered in Scottsdale, was the result of a collaborative effort led by the city of Scottsdale Economic Development Department involving city leadership, the private real estate industry, state level economic development leaders and compelling data analysis.
Overall, 11 Golden Prospector Awards and seven awards of merit were presented at AAED’s fall forum in Flagstaff.
AAED, founded in 1974, has a mission to serve as Arizona’s unified voice advocating for responsible economic development through an effective program of professional education, public policy, and collaboration.
