REDW Advisors & CPAs Welcomes Six New Principals
(ALBUQUERQUE – July 8, 2024) — REDW Advisors & CPAs is pleased to announce the promotion of five of its esteemed leaders to Principal roles on its award-winning team: Colaine Curtis, MBA; Kwok Leung (Albert) Cheung, CPA; Tamara L. Beall, CPA; Scott L. Miller, CPA; and Jonathan Rothweiler, CPA. REDW also welcomes new team member Kyle Stewart, CPA as Principal.
Client Advisory and Accounting Services (CAAS)
Colaine Curtis, MBA joined REDW in 2015 and has been working in the industry since 1992 – including in roles as both a Chief Financial Officer and Controller – serving private industry and tribal governments. Curtis is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. Within the community, she is a past board member of the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry and volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul. Curtis earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Master of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Agribusiness, from New Mexico State University. She is based in the Phoenix office and supports each of the offices as well as clients nationwide.
Audit & Assurance
Kwok Leung (Albert) Cheung, CPA has 20 years of experience of wide-ranging accounting experience and has been a member of REDW since 2013. A valued veteran of the firm, Cheung specializes in serving Native American tribes, government, employee benefit plans, and the finance and construction industries. A CPA licensed to practice in Arizona, he holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accountancy and Business Administration from Arizona State University. Cheung is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Arizona Society of CPAs (ASCPA). He is based in the Phoenix office and supports each of the offices as well as clients nationwide.
Jonathan Rothweiler, CPA joined REDW in 2008 and has spent the entirety of his career growing with the firm. He specializes in audits of tribal governments and their enterprises and also has an intimate working knowledge of the application of the Yellow Book under governmental audits. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), Rothweiler has earned the Advanced Single Audit Certificate through the AICPA and the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) designation through the AGA. His is also a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants (NMSCPA), where he currently serves on the Young CPAs committee. Rothweiler earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of New Mexico. He is based in the Albuquerque office and supports each of the offices as well as clients nationwide.
Mergers & Acquisitions
Kyle Stewart, CPA joins REDW after serving for nearly a decade as a Partner at RSM LLP. He has more than 20 years of experience focused on serving the nonprofit and education, healthcare, commercial, and insurance industries. Stewart was honored as a Trailblazer in 2012 by the Oklahoma Society of CPAs, an award that recognizes the innovation, professional dedication and community commitment of members who are under 40 years of age or have five or fewer years of certified public accounting experience. Within the community, Stewart serves on the board of directors and is a finance committee member for The Homeless Alliance, volunteers at New Song Church, and is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City Class 39. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. Stewart is based in the Oklahoma City office.
Tax
Tamara L. Beall, CPA has been a member of REDW since 2019, joining after serving for several years in tax accountant and supervisory roles. In addition to her leadership role with REDW, Beall is the chair-elect of the New Mexico Society of CPAs, where she has served as a member of the board of directors since 2018. She is also active with the Commercial Real Estate Women of New Mexico (CREW NM), where she is currently serving on the board of directors after completing a volunteer role as the finance committee chair and as a formal mentor. Beall was recognized as the 2021 Outstanding Member in Community Service by the New Mexico Society of CPAs and she is also a recipient of the Albuquerque Business First’s “40 Under 40” award, which she received in 2022. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of New Mexico as well as master’s degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting, respectively, also from the University of New Mexico. Beall is based in the Albuquerque office where she serves her clients and supports learning and development for both the firm’s U.S. and international tax team members.
Scott L. Miller, CPA has been a member of REDW since 2022 when the firm merged in Phoenix-based accounting firm Edwards, Largay, Mihaylo & Co., PLC (ELMCO). He has been in the industry since 2012 and brings experience from working in the engineering and automotive industries for many years. Within the community, Miller is a board member with the Arizona Spartans Alumni Association and a Tax Advisory Committee member for the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Arts from Michigan State University. He is based in the Phoenix office and supports each of the offices as well as clients nationwide.

These appointments come on the heels of the firm announcing three newly created key leadership appointments in Katherine Bastow, SPHR-SCP (Senior Professional in Human Resources – Senior Certified Professional), to Vice President of People Operations; Michelle Burdett, CPA, to Vice President of Finance; and Shawn Fisher to Vice President of Information Technology. The trio supports each of the firm’s offices as well as team members working across the globe. In addition, in late 2023, REDW formally expanded to the Pacific Northwest with the opening of a physical office in Salem, Oregon.
