Quarles & Brady LLP Dedicates John Dawson Room in Phoenix
On April 17, attorneys from Quarles & Brady LLP – as well as fellow members of the legal and business communities – gathered together for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new John Dawson Room at Quarles’ Phoenix office. Dawson, a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Litigation practices, passed away in 2009. During his nearly 40-year legal career, Dawson built and led one of the largest and most sophisticated bankruptcy and distress practice groups in the country, and through his vision helped to develop a national practice that serves all types of companies in complex bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters. He was the National Chairman of the firm’s bankruptcy and distress practice group for many years as well as a leader in the local community for such causes as the Catholic Church, Capitol Elementary School, St. Vincent de Paul, UMOM New Day Centers, The Wellness Community, United Way and more.

On all levels and in every capacity, John touched and improved the lives of countless people, never expecting anything in return for himself.”
In 2009, Quarles & Brady established a scholarship in Dawson’s name at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Contributions in John’s name to the scholarship fund should be made to “ASU Foundation” at P.O. Box 877906, Tempe, Arizona 85287.
