Prescott Area Economic Developers Win Golden Prospector and Award of Merit Recognizing Excellence in Economic Development
(PHOENIX, Sept. 20, 2016) The city of Prescott has won a Golden Prospector Award and the Greater Prescott Region Economic Partnership has earned a Golden Prospector Award of Merit from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED), recognizing excellence, innovation and creativity in economic development.
The city of Prescott’s award was for “Deal of the Year.” In March 2016, VinylVisions, a California company specializing in vinyl-trim for commercial and residential windows and doors, broke ground on a new 50,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Prescott. The company invested more than $5 million in its plant, initially hiring 25 employees and growing to 50 employees at completion.
The Greater Prescott Region Economic Partnership was honored for its multi-media campaign, “The Right Place, Space and Pace.” The partnership created a comprehensive marketing strategy to brand itself within the region and market the region to employers, site selectors, brokers, developers, and association representatives. The campaign included print materials, digital marketing, and social media with messaging that reinforced the area as an excellent place to locate a business, as well as highlighting its reputation as a tourism or retirement destination.
Overall, 11 Golden Prospector Awards and seven awards of merit were presented at AAED’s fall forum in Flagstaff.
AAED, founded in 1974, has a mission to serve as Arizona’s unified voice advocating for responsible economic development through an effective program of professional education, public policy, and collaboration.
