PHX3on3 Basketball Tournament Presents Donations to Two Valley Nonprofits, Subway Kids & Sports of Arizona and Ability360
(PHOENIX – May 1, 2017) –PHX3on3, presented by The Ak-Chin Indian Community and The NABI Foundation, was pleased to present two $1,000 checks to the tournaments’ two nonprofit partners this year: Subway Kids & Sports of Arizona and Ability360. The check presentation took place Saturday, April 29 at Ak-Chin Center Court just before the professional slam dunk competition.
Each year, PHX3on3 partners with two local Valley nonprofits to help bring more awareness to the good that is being done in Arizona’s communities.
“Working with the Ak-Chin Indian Community to provide funding for area nonprofits is an important part of the PHX3on3,” said Rick Steltenpohl, tournament manager. “Our goal is to increase this support in the future.”
Subway Kids & Sports of Arizona’s mission is to provide sports equipment, uniforms, registration fees and access to major sporting events for kids who might not otherwise be able to participate. Subway Restaurants of Arizona supports kids in sports because it believes basic sports skills — teamwork, commitment and accountability — help kids throughout their lives. Subway Kids & Sports of Arizona has reached more than 25,000 Arizona children since its inception in 1999.
Ability360 is a nonprofit dedicated to touching the lives of individuals with disabilities and addresses the disability concerns of their family members, coworkers and employers. It offers and promotes programs designed to empower people with disabilities to take personal responsibility so that they may achieve or continue independent lifestyles within the community. Ability360 is one of five Centers for Independent Living in Arizona, and the largest Center in the state.
