Mercy Care Designates Southwest Behavioral & Health Services a 2023 Autism Spectrum Disorder Center of Excellence Program
(PHOENIX) – Mercy Care has designated Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H) a 2023 Autism Spectrum Disorder Center of Excellence Program. The innovative leader in behavioral health received recognition for the organization’s dedication and commitment to serving the community’s most vulnerable members in addition to its work with the most complex members with autism diagnoses and their families to keep the children in the community.
“Mercy Care has chosen Southwest Behavioral & Health Services as a shining beacon of compassion and expertise, designating them as one of our 2023 Autism Spectrum Disorder Centers of Excellence,” said Mercy Care Department of Child Safety Comprehensive Health Plan and Children’s System of Care Administrator Karrie Steving. “This designation demonstrates SB&H’s excellence in care and profound commitment to understanding, supporting, and empowering individuals on the autism spectrum.”
Mercy Care’s designated Centers of Excellence are providers, organizations or networks of providers that have accredited trainers and have implemented evidence-based practices focused on improving clinical outcomes.
“Our Southwest Autism Center of Excellence provides innovative and high-quality community-based services tailored to each member and family we serve,” said SB&H CEO Steven Sheets. “Our services meet a critical need for comprehensive services which bring together the expertise of medical, developmental and mental health providers and offer these services throughout the member’s life span. We are thrilled to once again receive this designation from Mercy Care in recognition of our team’s work.”
The Center of Excellence designation by Mercy Care is annually renewable based on an organization continuing to meet the program’s criteria, maintaining accessibility through acceptance of referrals, and participating in data exchange to establish further support for the evidence-based practices an organization has implemented.
