Local Business Leaders and Girl Scouts Unite for “Empowering Girl Scout Entrepreneurs” Event, Hosted by GSACPC and OneAZ Credit Union
(PHOENIX – Feb. 5, 2025) – More than 50 CEOs, executives, and community leaders from Arizona, along with more than 50 Girl Scouts from the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) came together at OneAZ Credit Union in Phoenix for “Empowering Girl Scout Entrepreneurs.” The event, hosted by GSACPC in collaboration with OneAZ Credit Union, provided opportunities for Girl Scouts to foster entrepreneurial skills through interactive activities and develop their Girl Scout Cookie pitches for the season with advice from local leaders.
“We all start somewhere and the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world, the Girl Scout Cookie program, often serves as a launchpad for girls to get their entrepreneurial start,” says Mary Mitchell, Co-CEO of GSACPC. “We are thankful for the support of OneAZ Credit Union and the local business leaders of Arizona for investing in the future and offering valuable business advice to girls as they begin their journeys.”
The event is part of OneAZ Credit Union’s support of GSACPC, and its programs focused on entrepreneurship for older Girl Scouts, one of the core pillars of Girl Scout programming, alongside STEM, life skills, and outdoor experiences. Courtesy of OneAZ Credit Union, each Girl Scout left the event with two cases of cookies sold.
“OneAZ is proud to support Arizona’s future trailblazers through events like Empowering Girl Scout Entrepreneurs. I’ve seen firsthand the power of Girl Scouts in inspiring the dreams of young women. Together, we’re empowering these future leaders to transform their ambitions into reality and create a brighter future for Arizona,” says Laura Worzella, OneAZ Credit Union’s Chief Operating Officer.
The 2025 Girl Scout Cookie season is currently underway and will take place through March 2, 2025. All funds raised stay 100 percent local to directly benefit Girl Scout programming, troop activities, long-term community service projects, as well as improving the accessibility and affordability of Girl Scouting.
