Jewish Family & Children’s Service Aleinu Program Hosts Overcoming Disabilities at Any Age

(PHOENIX, September 25, 2018) – Aleinu, a program of Jewish Family & Children’s Service, is hosting Overcoming Disabilities at Any Age, a workshop discussing the levels of care and resources available throughout the aging process.  The workshop will be held on October 16 from 5:30 -8:30 pm at the East Valley Jewish Community Center, 908 N. Alma School Road, Chandler.

The workshop, a collaboration with Gesher Disability Resources and the East Valley  Jewish Community, with support from the Jewish Community Foundation, is $18 per person and is open to the general public.

Attendees will hear presentations from Paige Raetz, PhD, BCBA; Diana Davis-Wilson, DBH, LBA, BCBA; and Michael Beyo, Rabbi and CEO of the East Valley JCC.  Topics include navigating the healthcare system, understanding cognitive delays and identifying the most appropriate resources.

“JFCS Aleinu presents educational workshops on a wide variety of topics of importance to today’s families,” said Jessica Bozek, Aleinu coordinator.  “We are pleased to bring these recognized speakers together in one place to discuss the importance of adjusting to a disability.”

Registration is available until October 12 at www.jfcsaz.org.  Light dinner will be provided, childcare is available (ages 3 and up).
