Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino HERO Committee Packs 13,824 Meals for Feed My Starving Children

The HERO Committee at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is an employee group that donates time, skills, expertise and compassion to make noteworthy and visible contributions to the community.

(MARICOPA, Ariz. – Jan. 14, 2021) The Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino HERO committee—an employee-based volunteer program that enables employees and their families to make noteworthy and visible contributions to the community—arranged a food-packing event at Feed My Starving Children where 25 employees and their families packed more than 13,800 meals to help those in need.

“The Feed My Starving Children event was just one of many events where our employees are able to donate their time, skills, expertise and compassion to the community,” said Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Senior Vice President/General Manager Michael Kintner. “Last year, the HERO committee volunteered more than 10,000 hours to support others in the community. They are a shining example of what we can do when we come together to achieve great things.”

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food and is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.

FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential.
