Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council Empowers Local Girls to Embrace Entrepreneurship with the Launch of the 2024 Cookie Season from Jan. 15 to Feb. 25, 2024
(PHOENIX – Jan. 9, 2024) – Thousands of girls in 90-plus communities across central and northern Arizona are preparing to show off their entrepreneurial skills with the launch of the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season, taking place from Jan. 15 to Feb. 25, 2024.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program, renowned as the world’s largest entrepreneurial program in the world for girls, returns to foster the development of goal setting, money management, people skills, communication skills and decision-making skills in K-12 girls as they participate in the program.
“The kickoff of the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season marks a significant milestone for thousands of girls as they begin or continue on their entrepreneurial journeys, learning the vital skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives,” said GSACPC co-CEO Mary Mitchell. “And great news! All nine classic Girl Scout Cookie favors are back so everyone can enjoy their favorites.”
GSACPC’s full assortment of iconic cookies will include fan favorites such as Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Girl Scout S’mores ® and more. And once again, funds raised during Girl Scout Cookie Season will stay 100 percent local.
“In addition to practicing positive self-growth and spreading joy through delicious treats, every package of cookies sold contributes to girl-led community projects, educational troop excursions, maintaining and improving our four Girl Scout camp properties across Arizona, and cultivating even more moments of sisterhood for Girl Scouts,” says fellow GSACPC co-CEO, Christina Spicer.
Take a look at how the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season will impact Central and Northern Arizona with the comeback of the delightful Bring Home the Cookies 5K and other enriching entrepreneurial events like the Cookie Fast Pitch as well as new partnerships that will offer even more opportunities to enjoy delicious Girl Scout Cookies.
Jan. 20 – Cookie Fast Pitch and Sweets & Swag Block Party
As Girl Scouts gear up for 2024 Cookie Season, they will refine their pitches and sharpen their skills at the Cookie Fast Pitch on Jan. 20, where esteemed executives and CEOs from across the Valley will share their feedback, personal sales experiences, and expertise that girls can utilize in their sales efforts for the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season.
“Investing in the potential of tomorrow’s leaders is crucial,” says co-CEO Mitchell. “With the mentorship of local business leaders, girls will learn that they are doing more than just selling a package of cookies, but also laying the groundwork for the future as they get equipped with the courage, confidence and character to take with them into cookie season and beyond.”
The Cookie Fast Pitch session will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at State Forty Eight in Chandler located at 3245 N Arizona Ave. The fast pitch coincides with the annual Sweets and Swag Block Party with State Forty Eight, open-to-the-public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring the brand’s products and deals, food trucks, a DJ, on-site cookie booths and more.
NEW! Cartel Roasting Co. Girl Scout Cookie Inspired Drink and Give Back Blend
This year, GSACPC is excited to introduce Cartel Roasting Co. as a new partner for the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season. A local business built on the concept of fostering community through coffee, Cartel Roasting Co. will serve as a local boothing partner, extending the opportunity for Girl Scouts to sell cookies at the brand’s locations in the Valley.
Cartel Roasting Co. will also reimagine a classic Girl Scout Cookie with the introduction of the Girl Scout Cookie inspired drink, Mint Mocha, available at the brand’s Arizona cafes starting Jan. 20. Additionally, coffee lovers are also invited to purchase the “Give Back Blend,” featuring GSACPC as the program recipient through Feb. 29. The Give Back Blend is a medium roast available in-store and online in 12 oz., 2 lb., and 5 lb. bags, with 10 percent of the proceeds going back to support GSACPC.
Feb. 3 – Girl Scouts Day with the Grand Canyon University Women’s Basketball Team
On Feb. 3, Girl Scouts will take to GCU Arena for Girl Scouts Day as the Grand Canyon University women’s basketball team takes on Utah Valley. Girls will not only be cheering for the Antelopes to take home the victory but will also be exhibiting their cookie selling skills to the public with on-site booths. Additionally, girls will also take part in a special in-game experience during half-time in celebration of Girl Scouts Day.
Feb. 24 – Bring Home the Cookies 5K
Girl Scouts—Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) and State Forty Eight Foundation, in partnership with State Forty Eight, will host their annual Bring Home the Cookies 5K on Feb. 24 at the Westgate Entertainment District. The community walk/run, which supports both charitable organizations, aims to celebrate and empower Arizona entrepreneurs of all ages as they build the foundation for a bright future. All area residents and families, whether directly connected to Girl Scouts or not, are welcome to take part.
A unique partner of GSACPC, State Forty Eight Foundation is dedicated to supporting Arizona entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing educational and financial resources, as well as a community of like-minded individuals.
“Teaming up with a local organization as influential in the entrepreneurial space as State Forty Eight helps to advance opportunities for Girl Scouts and cultivate long-lasting impact right here in our own backyard,” says fellow GSACPC co-CEO, Christina Spicer. “The Bring Home the Cookies 5K will serve as an empowering space for Girl Scouts to celebrate their accomplishments as young entrepreneurs with their friends and families in a healthy way as the Girl Scout Cookie Season comes to a close.”
The course is a fast-paced route that loops with a minimal elevation change. In addition to the race itself, the event will feature special appearances from local sports mascots and a Runner’s Village with traditional booths and vendors as well as food trucks and even a couple of State Forty Eight Foundation and Girl Scout entrepreneurs showcasing their work on-site. The Bring Home the Cookies 5K will also feature a Celebrity Cookie Eating Contest for the first time ever, featuring local personalities and athletes.
