Families Giving Back to Organize Snack Bag Assembly Event at UMOM Day Centers

Family volunteering event to provide healthy snacks for deserving teens

WHAT:          Families Giving Back needs your help to support UMOM Day Centers, the largest family homeless shelter in Arizona, provide afterschool snacks for their teen residents. Currently, the after-school program does not provide any food or snacks. We need your help as studies show the importance proper nutrition plays in learning.

Prior to volunteering, at home, we are asking volunteers to decorate plain lunch bags with crayons, markers, stickers, etc., and if you would like, handcrafted cards with inspirational messages can be brought to be included in the bags as well. Volunteers, of all ages, will bring their decorated bags to the event and fill the bags with provided nutritious snacks such as granola bars and crackers as well as pencils for the children’s homework.

COST:          There is no cost for volunteers to participate.  Families Giving Back is covering the costs of the snacks and pencils for the snack bags.
