Families Giving Back “Stepped Up To The Plate” To Give Back To The Cactus Youth Baseball League

Families Giving Back partnered with the Scottsdale Batting Cages and Chad Moeller Baseball to give back to the more than 700 kids in the Cactus Youth Baseball League on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Volunteers, of all ages, from across the Valley brought new and gently used baseball equipment to donate to the organization. The Cactus Youth Baseball League is comprised of 38 teams of participants, between the ages of 4 – 14, the majority of which live below poverty level.

But, the real fun took place when 70 children, including the young volunteers and those in the Cactus Youth Baseball League, had the opportunity to participate in a free baseball clinic led by 11-year MLB veteran catcher, Chad Moeller and MLB alumni pitcher, John Webb. Additional volunteers from Families Giving Back that did not participate in the baseball clinic were busy sorting, organizing and packaging the baseball equipment donations to be distributed to the Cactus Youth Baseball League teams.

Families Giving Back is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and helping families with kids of all ages volunteer together. Founded in 2012, the nonprofit organization has been working with Valley nonprofits to create volunteer opportunities for kids of any age.
