DrugFreeAZKids.org to host “It’s Not a Rite of Passage: Prom & Graduation Underage Drinking” Webinar
WHAT: DrugFreeAZKids.org invites parents, caregivers, teachers and community members to participate in an upcoming webinar on “It’s Not a Rite of Passage: Prom & Graduation Underage Drinking.” Don’t fall prey to the assumption that underage teen drinking is inevitable. It’s not a certainty and there is plenty that adults can do to minimize the risk and tragedy for young people. Find out what you can do to upend the belief that “all kids are going to drink.”
DrugFreeAZKids.org is the leading source of information about preventing youth substance abuse. One key way of prevention is to talk early and often about the dangers of substance abuse with your children. Kids can begin to hear messages about making healthy choices as early as preschool. Participating in this webinar will help you prepare in such discussions.
The average age of first time drug use in Arizona is 13 years old. DrugFreeAZKids.org’s mission is to prevent and reduce youth drug and alcohol use through community education and awareness by providing parents, caregivers, healthcare providers, educators and others with educational tools, information and resources.
