(MARICOPA, Ariz. – March 29, 2017) – Recently, The Caesars Foundation, coordinated through the staff at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, presented a $15,000 check to American Cancer Society for Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino’s month-long initiative to raise awareness of preventative health and treatment of breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for winning a companywide contest for Relay for Life fundraising efforts. In addition, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino also donated an additional $6,441.45 to the American Cancer Society for participation in this year’s Relay for Life on April 1, 2017 and has plans for two jeans days, a bake sale and an onsite fundraiser the day of the event.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino came in first place in competition amongst 40 other Caesars’ properties for their breast cancer awareness activities in October 2016. In addition, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino received 3rd place company-wide for funds raised for Relay for Life in April 2016. Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino employees served nearly 1,597 combined community service hours for breast cancer awareness activities, with 83% of employees participating in at least one activity. This year’s breast cancer awareness activities included the Pink Pool Party, Battle of the Bras, pink casino tables, pink food dishes, a pink warrior drink and pink decorations throughout the casino.

“Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is proud to be a part of the Caesars Entertainment team with the long-standing goal of giving back in the local community,” said Christine Todd, Harrah’s Development Systems program manager. “Our entire staff was excited to join together in this effort and to present the Foundation’s donation to the American Cancer Society.”
