Arizona Association For Economic Development Announces Ben Warren Memorial Scholarship Winner
(PHOENIX – Oct. 30, 2017) — The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) has announced that Carol Treuber, an economic development specialist with Southeast Arizona Economic Development Group (SAEDG) in Benson, is the winner of the 2018 AAED Ben Warren Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship, named in honor of Ben Warren who was one of AAED’s founding fathers, charter member and past president, provides full tuition for the Arizona Basic Economic Development Course.
According to the selection committee, Treuber was chosen this year because of the benefits her community will gain as a result of her participation in the course.
Benson and all of southern Arizona are on the verge of major changes to the economic development of the area. A large development expected to break ground in 2018 will spawn a much-needed economic boost to the area. The knowledge Treuber gains will help SAEDG be ready for this development and will provide the organization with the expertise to seize every opportunity to ensure healthy economic environment for Benson and the surrounding area.
