ACCEL’s Connie Laird is Elected to the NAPSEC Board

ACCEL’s executive director, Connie Laird, has been elected once again to serve on the National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC) Board of Directors.

NAPSEC is a core resource for the private special education community.  NAPSEC is the foremost national organization that develops leaders of private special education services and advocates for the rights and needs of all individuals with disabilities.  Its member programs provide educational, therapeutic and vocational services to both publically and privately placed individuals that are not able to be successfully educated in a traditional education environment.

Laird has been a NAPSEC board member for 12 years and served as NAPSEC Conference Chair for three years. In 2010, she received the NAPSEC Executive of the Year award.

In her role as executive director at ACCEL, she oversees more than 250 students with special needs on two campuses and at multiple satellite programs, ACCEL’s BISTA Center, Gifted Hands Boutique and ACCEL Adult Services.

Laird is a Phoenix resident.
