8th Annual Positively Powerful Woman Awards Honors Nicole Stanton for Philanthropic Leadership
The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Phoenix office managing partner Nicole Stanton has been honored as the “Philanthropic Leader of the Year” at the 8th Annual Positively Powerful Woman Awards, which took place June 5 at the Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix.
“I am delighted to have Nicole Stanton as the recipient of the 2015 Philanthropic Leadership Award,” said Dr. Joel P. Martin, president of Triad West, Inc. and founder of the Positively Powerful Woman Awards. “She is a giver and a role model. The managing partner of the Phoenix branch, associate general counsel of the whole of Quarles and Brady, senior member of the firm’s Professional Liability Team, a broadly experienced litigator, a mother, wife and the First Lady of the City of Phoenix, Nicole is also the founder of the anti-bullying initiative, Stop Bullying AZ, which partnered with ASU in 2014 to create the Dion Initiative on Child Well Being and Bullying Prevention. She leads by example.”
Five other individuals joined Stanton in being honored during the awards program, including:

• Bonnie Lucas, Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year

In addition to her position as office manager partner at Quarles & Brady LLP, Stanton is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. Her experience includes defense of local and national law firms in legal malpractice actions and other business litigation disputes.
In the Phoenix community, Stanton serves as a founding board member and past president of the Women’s Metropolitan Arts Council of the Phoenix Art Museum as well as a member of Chart 100 Women. She also is an adjunct professor at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, teaching professional responsibility and serves as a member of the Business Court Advisory Committee. A graduate of Valley Leadership Class XXIX, Stanton is a past YWCA of Maricopa County’s Tribute to Women honoree, in the Business Leader category. She also was honored as one of the “50 Most Influential Women in Business” by AZ Business Magazine.
Stanton received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah.
