Pioneer Title Agency Earns 1st Place in Presentation for 4th Annual “25 Men Who Think They Can Cook” Fundraiser

(FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – July 5, 2017) – Pioneer Title Agency served as proud sponsors – and competitors – in the fourth annual “25 Men Who Think They Can Cook” fundraiser for Childhelp Flagstaff, which took place on Saturday, June 3 at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff and raised nearly $25,000 for the 58-year-old Arizona-based organization. Justin Hansen, escrow assistant at Pioneer’s Elden branch, which is located at 112 N. Elden in Flagstaff, volunteered his time as one of the 25 meal-making men, cooking up Justin’s Elden Street Enchiladas. His food truck display earned him first place in presentation.

“I’m so glad to have been able to participate this year” said Hansen. “I know the ’25 Men Who Can Cook’ fundraiser is something our branch looks forward to doing every year because it’s fun, but it is made even better knowing that the funds raised during the event go directly to helping meet the physical, emotional and educational needs of abused, neglected and at-risk kids.”

Childhelp, which was founded in Phoenix in 1959 by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson, is a nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Since its founding 58 years ago, Childhelp has been able to make contributions to children in need including:

• Childhelp Residential Treatment Villages, which are actual residential facilities focused on providing specialized, comprehensive care to the worst cases of neglect and abuse. There are currently three protected villages in the country.
• Childhelp Children’s Advocacy Centers, which brings together police, therapists, pediatricians and child services under one roof so that a child only has to share his/her story of abuse one time, cutting down on additional trauma. There is an Arizona facility, which is located in Phoenix.
• Childhelp Group Homes, which provide safe, stable environments for children as well as living and financial literacy programs.
• Childhelp Foster Family and Adoption Agencies, which provide licensed short and long-term foster care.
• Childhelp Speak Up and Be Safe, which is an evolution of the “Good Touch, Bad Touch” program available in nationwide elementary schools that teaches signs of abuse, violence prevention and anti-bullying.
• Childhelp H.K. Cummings Community Center, which provides Arizona children with after-school programs and family support services.

Each Pioneer office in Coconino County and beyond, in fact, is encouraged to be active in their own neighborhoods, giving back in time, fundraising efforts and financial contributions through the Pioneer Title Agency in Action community outreach program.
