2017 PRSA Phoenix Copper Anvils Showcase Best in PR Past, Present and Future
Last night, PRSA Phoenix celebrated the 2017 Copper Anvil Awards.
Earning a Copper Anvil Award is regarded as one of the highest honors for Arizona public relations practitioners. Over the years, the Copper Anvil Awards have recognized hundreds of winning programs throughout the state that have solved problems, changed opinions and created business opportunities. HMA is proud to have won several in our 37-year history, including five awards this year.
The event, chaired by long-time HMA friend Veronica Biczo and emceed by local broadcast icon Lin Sue Cooney, was themed “PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE” (see what we did there?). Abbie and I volunteered our time on the event committee again this year – and volunteered HMA as ground zero for all the fun auction and raffle prizes (thanks to Maddie for her great organizing skills!).
But I digress.
The real fun of this event is celebrating EVERYONE’S success, including the Visit Phoenix’s Doug MacKenzie, who PRSA surprised with the Percy Award, our version of a lifetime achievement award.
Our colleagues at the following organizations and agencies were all Copper Anvil honorees:
- City of Mesa Water
- Town of Gilbert
- City of Mesa Transportation
- Allstate Insurance
- Avnet
- Gordon C. James Public Relations
- Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus-Pine Council – a client!
- Allison + Partners
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona
- City of Phoenix Public Works
- Diamondbacks
- Ideas Collide
- Arizona Humane Society – where I volunteer!
- Serendipit Consulting
- The James Agency
- AAA Arizona
- Fingerpaint Marketing
- City of Chandler
- Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply
A special thanks to fellow committee members as well as the fabulous Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch for hosting us and to all of the amazing partners, sponsors and donors who made the event extra special. Update: HMA Public Relations, a Phoenix-based public relations agency, is already gearing up for the upcoming awards season!
