Washington Federal Partners with Arizona Department of Transportation to Keep Community Clean in Yuma Highway Clean-up Project

Washington Federal is proud to announce their branch located at 1315 S 4th Avenue in Yuma has partnered with the Arizona Department of Transportation on its Adopt-A-Highway clean-up project. Through the partnership, the Yuma branch volunteers its time once per quarter to actively keep its adopted stretch of Interstate 8 litter free. Washington Federal bank volunteers kicked off the partnership on November 7, filling trash bags with litter from the area surrounding their highway section.

“Washington Federal believes that the relationships we have with our local communities are as important as those we share with our customers, stockholders and employees,” said Marla Welter, assistant vice president and branch manager. “It is with this goal that the Washington Federal Foundation was founded at the national level – and our ‘Washington Federal Focus on Arizona’ community outreach program on the local level.”

Together, the Washington Federal Foundation and Washington Federal Focus on Arizona outreach programs work to fundraise for, volunteer with and facilitate direct giving to community-based nonprofits serving the needs of low and moderate-income individuals.
