Two Quarles & Brady Attorneys Selected to Create 3D Model on A Visual Depiction of Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies

The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Roger N. Morris, Phoenix partner and chair of the firm’s national Health & Life Sciences Industry Group, and Simone Colgan Dunlap, an associate in the firm’s Health Law Practice Group, have been selected by the editorial board of LawyerMade as the authors for the first-ever 3D model on A Visual Depiction of Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies.

The 3D model and accompanying article represent a visual depiction of the process and importance of Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS). The model is approximately 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide and includes an article with an expert analysis of each of the labeled areas on the 3D model. The 3D model renders more effective the process of explaining a concept or argument related to the legal issues surrounding REMS by having a tangible object to help others visualize.

“We are honored to have Mr. Morris and Ms. Colgan Dunlap as LawyerMade authors,” said the VP of the Speaker Board for ReedLogic, Andrew Burdick. “Their work is highly regarded in the industry, and the 3D model they created is a great resource for other attorneys and companies involved in the pharmaceutical industry.”

“The number of products with REMS programs in place is steadily increasing,” said Colgan Dunlap. “Coupled with the fact that failure to comply with REMS requirements can render a product misbranded and result in substantial financial penalties for product sponsors, it is likely that a REMS will soon be in place for a medicine prescribed to you or someone you love.”

“Quarles & Brady performs a substantial percentage of pharmacy law-related issues across the country, so we work hard to remain abreast of the latest technologies,” said Morris.

Morris’s practice focuses on the representation of health care providers and other employers, emphasizing health care and pharmacy law, employment law, pharmaceutical and medical device, and product liability cases. He serves as a member of the Quarles & Brady Executive Committee and is chairman of the firm’s Health & Life Sciences Industry Group. Morris earned both his law degree and undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Colgan Dunlap’s practice is focused on regulatory compliance, related risk management and corporate/contracting matters for a variety of clients, including pharmacy benefits managers/third-party administrators, health care insurers, discount medical plan organizations, pharmacies, home health agencies, hospitals, physicians, pharmacists and nurses. She received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and her undergraduate degree, cum laude and with honors, in Psychology from Whitman College.
