Harrah’s Hosts Shred It Event For Community

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion that will add more guest rooms, a spa, conference center with increased ballroom space, additional restaurants and a multi-level parking structure.   Even with these exciting new additions, the casino is still dedicated to its community and company-wide CodeGreen initiatives.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino recently hosted a ‘Shred It’ event, and invited community members to bring their unwanted papers and documents to shred them at this free event. A total of 2,000 pounds of paper was shredded at the event that was held on property.

“We were proud to partner with Arizona Center for the Blind Document Destruction (ACFTB) for our Shred It event,” said April Stovall, Surveillance and Facilities Manager and the property’s CodeGreen Leader. “Each shredding event with ACFTB benefits the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, who assists individuals with their adjustment to vision loss and provides services necessary for regaining independence and self-dignity.”

CodeGreen provides low-carbon solutions to reduce water, energy and waste consumption at all Caesars’ resorts. Each property has its own CodeGreen team to implement the company strategy on a monthly basis.

Celebrating 23 years in Maricopa, Ariz., Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is Arizona’s first and only tribal casino to have an international management partner.

In addition to its slot machines, video poker, video Keno, statewide progressives and live action poker and Black Jack, Harrah’s Ak-Chin boasts the only Bingo hall in the Caesars organization.  Casino guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options, including the Copper Cactus Grill, Oak & Fork, Agave’s Restaurant, The Range Steakhouse, The Buffet and Dunkin Donuts®.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin has been named a Most Admired Company by Arizona Business Magazine and BestCompaniesAZ, and Phoenix Business Journal has named the property one of the “Best Places to Work in the Valley” five times. Harrah’s Ak-Chin was also awarded a Volunteer Service Award from the Arizona Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.
