Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Volunteers Build Habitat For Humanity House

(MARICOPA, Ariz. – May 21, 2018) – – Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, long-known for its corporate giving and community support, continues to impact local organizations through its HERO program. HERO is an employee-based volunteer program in which Harrah’s staff and their families make noteworthy and visible contributions to the community by donating their time, skills, expertise and compassion to dozens of volunteer projects throughout the community.

On April 28th, Harrah’s employees and family members participated in a Habitat For Humanity home build, in Arizona City, Ariz.

“Our goal for 2018 is to contribute more than 16,000 volunteer hours in our communities,” said Robert Livingston, general manager of Harrah’s Ak-Chin. “Our team members have already hit the ground running this year, and we were excited to participate in a Habitat For Humanity project.”

The home was built for Christopher Sharp, and his son. The Sharps previously lived in an apartment complex that was rundown, and located in an unsafe neighborhood. Sharp applied for the Habitat Home program in order to provide a better foundation and future for his son.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is Arizona’s first and only tribal casino to have an international management partner.

In addition to its slot machines, video poker, video Keno, statewide progressives and live action poker and Black Jack, Harrah’s Ak-Chin boasts the only Bingo hall in the Caesars organization.  Casino guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options, including the Copper Cactus Grill, Oak & Fork, Agave’s Restaurant, The Range Steakhouse, The Buffet and Dunkin Donuts®.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin has been named a Most Admired Company by Arizona Business Magazine and BestCompaniesAZ, and Phoenix Business Journal has named the property one of the “Best Places to Work in the Valley” five times. Harrah’s Ak-Chin was also awarded a Volunteer Service Award from the Arizona Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.
