Gina Rodriguez Honored as a Top Colorado Law Alumna

DENVER (March 14, 2013) —The University of Colorado School of Law has awarded Regina M. Rodriguez of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP its Distinguished Alumni Award for Achievement in Private Practice.

The award was presented to Rodriguez on March 13, 2013, at the university’s Annual Alumni Awards Banquet. The event celebrates the University of Colorado Law School community and honors distinguished alumni.

Rodriguez, a 1988 Colorado Law alumna, is a partner in the Denver office of Faegre Baker Daniels. She focuses on defense of complex product liability cases, with an emphasis in medical drug and device cases. She also defends clients in government investigations. Prior to joining Faegre Baker Daniels in 2002, Rodriguez was an assistant U.S. attorney and chief of the Civil Division in the District of Colorado, where she supervised and directed all active civil cases for the office. Additionally, she served in the assistant attorney general’s office as the deputy senior counsel for alternative dispute resolution.

In addition to her national practice, Rodriguez is very active in pro bono and charitable causes. She is a founding member of Colorado Youth at Risk. She served as a board member at Open Door and Family Star Montessori, and she offers volunteer legal counsel for the Denver Ballet Guild. Former Governor Bill Ritter appointed Rodriguez to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education in 2009, and she continues to serve the state as a commissioner.

Honored with alumni awards alongside Rodriguez were Colorado Supreme Court Justice Michael L. Bender, Judge Timothy M. Tymkovich of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and Carole J. Yaley, chief attorney of ExxonMobil Global Services Company. Proceeds from the banquet will support the Dean’s Fund for Excellence at the University of Colorado Law School.
