At least once a day, I laugh while staring at various documents here in the office.

If the document is from Kendra, the font will always be Calibri – as she hates Times New Roman with the fire of a thousand hells.

This hatred causes her much turmoil – mostly because I convert every single thing I look at into Times New Roman, dramatically exclaiming out loud (mostly to get a rise out of my office mate) how I refuse to look at documents in ANY other font.

Among the rest of the office, Abbie, it seems, has lost her love of Arial, which she used off and on in her email signature line for years. Now, she is on the Kendra train with Calibri as well. As for Stephanie, she jokes that she will start typing everything in Comic Sans simply to annoy us all, but prefers Cambria otherwise. Not sure on Katie yet, though I do convert a lot of her documents from Calibri to Times New Roman. And Scott – well, whatever is the default is good enough for him.

So, I have to ask – what’s your font?

And, what font drives you INSANE???

  1. Stephanie Lough says:

Alison you are lucky that I don’t know how to change the fonts in a blog post 🙂 There would have been Comic Sans all over the place! But I do love me my Cambria. In high school I used Bookman Old Style thinking the teachers wouldn’t notice that it adds some 15 percent more length to a paper. They never did! Muwahahaha.

Not that I ever had a problem with not having enough to say.

  2. I think the IBM Selectric we have still fires away in Courier. Or whatever it’s set at….

  3. Kendra Schultz says:

I do indeed hate Times New Roman “with the fire of a thousand hells.” It should be in the ban right alongside Comic Sans.

  4. Katie Snyder says:

I must say I am a fan of Times New Roman. After all it was required for just about every paper and essay I wrote in college. As for the worst font, I am pretty sure Arial wins that award.
