Gurus, ninjas, evangelists. Public relations titles have given a whole slew of words completely new definitions – self-given ranks or statuses to show that one is ahead of the pack (remind me to add “PR Pack Leader” to my Twitter bio.)

But one word remains the same: Master. A person eminently skilled in something, as an occupation, art or science.

Tonight the Public Relations Society of America, Phoenix Chapter will honor those who are “Mastering the PR Puzzle” at our annual Copper Anvil Awards. These peer-reviewed awards are given to the best of the best PR campaigns and tactics from the past year – and I, for one, cannot wait to see all of HMA’s hard work be recognized!

The grand event is taking place at The Clayton on the Park and will feature everything on a PR pro’s event checklist:

  • Delectable food
  • Two complementary drinks (and then some)
  • Portraits by caricature artist Adam Street
  • Phenomenal raffle prizes
  • Lux silent auction
  • Party favors
  • Killer awards show with the emcee Cory McCloskey

I’ll be tweeting live from @PRSAPhoenix and everyone can follow the night’s happenings by using #CopperAnvils. Facebook, too!

It’s not too late to join the fun – tickets will still be available at the door for $80 at 5:30 p.m.

Hope to see you there!
