Want to ignite your creative brain? Slow down.
But the thing is, according to Ron Alexander, the source for this story, if we actually slow down a bit – he goes as far as recommending meditation – we give our brains the chance to get creative. We clear out the mind of distractions so that we can really focus on what is relevant. He says try for 12-20 minutes a day and concentrate on your breathing and if a must-do must-act-on thought pops into your head, acknowledge it and then get back to focusing on your breathing.
Sounds simple enough and I’d like to think I can relax for 12 minutes a day…what do you think, shall I give it a try?
Breathe…. Breathe….. Breathe.
