The HMA team received a very special holiday gift this year – five days out of the office to spend time enjoying the season. Lots of things happened since December 21st, main one being the world did not end (oh and Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, Festivus and a New Year.)
While some of us thought our previous post would be our last, and despite our most educated guesses, we are still living, breathing and blogging (and happy for it!). Once we finished the rations in our apocalypse bunkers, we emerged with a new outlook on life, or at least, a few days to do as we pleased – which is apparently included a lot of time in front of the TV. Here’s a taste of how we spent our winter break:
Abbie: What I did over winter break… Family time, walks with Viva Fink, spa day, eating in, eating out, shopping, movies, reading, catching up w/friends, naps, and about 12 hours of Law & Order SVU episodes.
Alison – While away from my desk, I volunteered as the food and wine columnist at AZ Weekly Magazine while putting the final touches on the Barrett Jackson Drive and Dine In at Sapporo on January 7th and chauffeuring my hubby to two eye surgeries.
Katie: Aside from moving and attending the Arizona Cardinals game against the Chicago Bears, my break was spent eating cupcakes, seeing movies (I recommend seeing Django Unchained if you haven’t) and getting some much-needed rest and relaxation!
Rachel: My highlights from the break included: Spending time with Aiden, taking Aiden to the Arizona Science Center to see the Dinosaur exhibit, playing more tennis, and watching the new Twilight movie!
Stephanie: Lots of exciting things happened for me over break – starting with a new addition to my family, Carl! He was adopted on December 24th from the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control East Valley adoption center in PetSmart and is a great younger brother to Little Monster. I also traveled to San Francisco for the first time and officially met our PRGN affiliate David Landis of Landis Communications, Inc. and his husband, Sean Dowdall, who gave me a real taste of what the City by the Bay is all about! Last by not least, I went to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (although contrary to my belief, there was no blue box mac ‘n cheese given away) where ASU defeated Navy 62-28!
Even if you weren’t fortunate enough to have some time off the past week, share with us something special you did during the holiday season, or your plans for 2013 in the comments below!
