Autumn Jarrett is an account executive at HMA Public Relations and has been a member of the team since 2019. Her responsibilities include digital communications, social media management, media relations, graphic design, new business development and serving as the day-to-day contact for the agency’s varied clients. Jarrett also serves as a contributing writer to The Arizona 100, a twice-monthly digital publication featuring 100-word stories about the people, events, activities and news shaping Arizona.
Jarrett graduated cum laude from The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a certificate in marketing and sales from the W.P. Carey School of Business.
During her time at Cronkite, Jarrett interned at Arizona Public Service (APS) in the corporate communications department where she assisted in the development of tactics and strategies for a crisis billing assistance program, designed advertisements, documented the quarterly earning press release process and hosted lunch-and-learns for the communications department.
Jarrett gained further industry experience by completing a professional program through the Cronkite PR Lab, where she conducted primary research of audiences and stakeholders for ASU’s Interplanetary Initiative, developed tactics, strategies and objectives, and created original content including presentations, infographics, a new website and a podcast.
Originally from Decatur, Ill., Jarrett moved to Arizona to attend ASU without ever visiting the campus or even the state of Arizona. She will correct you every time that you say she’s from Chicago, and no, she wasn’t born in the fall. She has grown to love Arizona since moving here, despite the “dry heat” that is tremendously different from back home, but the easy access to great spicy margaritas has helped.
