Survey SaysI’m always a willing participant in surveys, but don’t usually get the chance.

We subscribe to a multitude of trade publications that relate to our various clients’ industries so we are on a number of lists that supposedly make us experts.  It relates to my claim of “knowing a little about a lot.”

I was called recently and asked if I’d answer some questions about heating units.  And – they were going to pay $40 for my answers!  Although we’ve had clients in the HVAC and plumbing industries for decades, I told the caller I didn’t think I was qualified, but I’d give it a shot.

Question 1: “Do you work for a heating manufacturer, a heating supply firm, a mechanical contractor, a heating service provider or another type of company?”

Answer 1: “Another type of company.”

Caller:  “You were right, but thanks for taking my call.”

There is also the fateful question for surveys taken at home:  “Do you or anyone in your household work for an advertising agency?”

Not technically…..but close enough to get disqualified.

At least I don’t get kicked out by Survey Monkey.
