Ah summer. In Arizona, it’s been “summer” for several weeks now. The first official day is June 21, but I’ve had the air conditioning on since early May. And the weather report calls for an excessive heat warning this week.
My sister, the school teacher, kicked off her summer vacation a couple weeks ago. When I texted her on her first day to see what she was up to, she responded back, “Got up at 8, walked the dog, had breakfast, went to the gym. Came home, had lunch, took a nap.” Boy did that make me jealous.
For most working professionals, summer can still be a time to recharge. We’re halfway through the year so use the summer months to evaluate, re-group and see if your plans for the next six months are still on track. It is a time to take that well-deserved (and I’d guess much-needed) vacation. Were their goals you set at the beginning of the year? How are you progressing?
Take advantage of this time to do some things for yourself. You’ll be better for it.
