Yep, hard to believe, but I have been an HMA’er for 18 years.  A lot has changed since I started – my offer letter from Scott was sent to me via fax on that lovely thermal paper that just curls and crinkles and disappears after a period time.  We saved all our Word Perfect documents on a 5” floppy disc.  My cellphone was actually a car phone and was mounted in the console of my car.

We called blogs newsletters, text messages were pages and if we wanted to instant chat with someone we called them on their land line.

But what hasn’t changed in 18 years?  My love for what I do, the great clients I get to work with and an awesome team of smart professionals who everyday bring in their A game to make sure we deliver what we promise.

I have been a part of some really great and meaningful projects – the kind that actually change lives.  I’ve helped small business get bigger and big businesses remember what it’s like to be small and growing.

I’ve met some amazing people along the way – many in-person and thanks to this crazy social media thing, many more in places I may never visit.  And you all mean the world to me.

So a tip of the hat to all of you that have had a part in my journey.  I hope I can count on you for the next 18 years.

I’m so happy that I’ve had the privilege to work with you three months out of the past 18 years 🙂 Here’s to many more to come!

P.S. I do kinda miss that paper. The paper chains you could make with the serrated tear off edges were awesome.

  3. Lisa Lochridge says:

Congratulations, Abbie! You do great work and are an inspiration to me!
