‘Tis the Season for Pumpkin Spice

Monday kicked off the first day of Autumn, so let’s cue all the fall jokes related to my name. But jokes aside, let’s be honest, we’ve been celebrating fall since mid-July when stores started selling Halloween costumes and pumpkin spice everything.

It’s no secret that for many fall marks the beginning of their favorite time of year. Parents get to send their children back to school, I get to buy Bath and Body Works fall-scented candles, football is back, Arizonans can anticipate cooler weather, and I can’t forget Halloween and

Thanksgiving quickly approaching.

Beyond draining our bank accounts to welcome the new season, don’t forget to take advantage of the opportunity to be on the other side of fall marketing trends.

Thanksgiving is the holiday of giving thanks; use this as an opportunity to show your appreciation for your community, followers, clients and colleagues.

When you are working on creating that next social media post try working in something about a good play from Sunday Night Football, an upcoming game or maybe your favorite Halloween tradition to spark some extra engagement.  Have a timely unique fall event coming up?

Remember to pitch it to the appropriate media.

While using fall to “spice” up your marketing plan, don’t take it overboard. Remember that just because it fits the time of year doesn’t mean it works for your brand.

And as we always say back home in the Midwest, “happy fall y’all!”
