scott5Playoff time, whether it is the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks or - for only the second time since they moved here, the Arizona Cardinals - creates a buzz that permeates throughout the entire Valley.

We'll see signs on buildings, banners on vehicles, good-luck wishes from news anchors and endorsements from elected officials.

And, we'll see Cardinals gear on fans both inside and outside the workplace.

cardinals-tieIt's time. My once-per-decade-appropriate Cardinals neck-tie will make its second-ever appearance as the Big Red frenzy gets whipped into a lather.

  1. Abbie says:

Nice! It’s very exciting to see another home team in the playoffs.

  2. Scott says:

Let’s just hope they’re not “one and done.”

  3. David Landis says:

OK, so I remember when the Cardinals were my home town team in St. Louis and high school kids with a 3.5 GPA or better got free season tickets (in nose-bleed city). My first big exposure to big league baseball and I loved it (OK, so I was a braniac as well!). And guess what? I think if I searched through my tie drawer, I’d find a 70’s-era retro Cardinals tie somewhere. Does that date me? Aargh! No matter where the Cardinals reside, I’ll still think of them as the hometown St. Louis team. Happy new year! Cheers, David
