Mobile MiniYou know how magazines, TV shows and I (when feeling particularly sassy) proclaim: “Oh no she didn’t!” as a means of communicating often-negative incredulity at the actions of another?

Well, this is not one of those times.

Over the weekend I happened to catch a safety video from Mobile Mini, which is a publicly traded company headquartered here in Arizona, that is quickly going viral. All I can say is, “Oh yes they did!”

Yes, those are actual members of Mobile Mini’s executive team in hard hats and JAMMING OUT to their own version of “Start Me Up,” while using what I like to call the “Weird Al Yankovic” approach to effective internal communications.

There was once a time that internal communications within a business was defined as pushing a message or messages from high on down to the folks below.

Today, internal communications is only effective if communicated in such a way that captures your team’s attention, quickly gets to the point and keeps key messages as simple as possible.

Check! Check! And Check! Well done, Mobile Mini.
