Both my (Alison, that is) grandmas battled breast cancer.

My best friend’s mom is still fighting after 10 years as a survivor.

Today – October 1 – kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month nationwide, and this year, advocates are taking to their digital communications platforms to fight. I am one of those advocates and ask for you to join us!

Simply update your Facebook and/or Twitter status today until midnight with any/all of the bullets below and encourage others to do the same:

    • Every 69 seconds, a woman dies of breast cancer somewhere in the world. #fightbreastcancer at http://69-seconds.org.
    • Visit http://69-seconds.org, post #fightbreastcancer before midnight and help turn the virtual world pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
    • How do you promise to #fightbreastcancer? http://69-seconds.org

Why 69 seconds?

Because that’s how often a woman dies of breast cancer somewhere in the world.

It’s also about how long it takes to #fightbreastcancer by choosing to drive change, share support or educate at www.69-seconds.org.

  1. Great post Alison. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been impacted by this disease. What an easy way to help. Thanks for sharing.
