ArizonaIn a recent survey released by Westgroup Research, two-thirds of business leaders in Arizona agree that enhancing the state’s image would have a positive impact on Arizona business.

That’s not a real surprise from the 400 CEOs, business owners and leading executives throughout Arizona who were polled.  We regularly tell our prospects that people like doing business with people they like.  The same can be said for a company’s location.

As for doing business outside the U.S., only 30 percent of Arizona companies do international work with the majority of it resulting in less than 10 percent of the companies’ revenue.  HMA Public Relations would fall into that category of less than 10 percent of our revenue generated internationally, but with our membership in the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN), we certainly have the capability to provide expert PR services around the world and grow that number.

As for the findings about the benefits and challenges of doing business in Arizona, they are interesting.

The top three benefits of doing business in Arizona?

  1. Quality of Life (66 percent)
  2. Climate/Weather (56 percent)
  3. Low Cost of Doing Business (47 percent)

On the other hand, the top three challenges of doing business in Arizona?

  1. Education System (50 percent)
  2. Quality and Availability of Workforce (42 percent)
  3. State Government (27 percent)

The survey was commissioned by Alliance Bank and developed in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
