North Scottsdale’s AXA Advisors Surprises Boys & Girls Club Child with iPad

Christmas came early for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale’s Virginia G. Piper Branch member “Kailey S.” as she was surprised with her very own iPad on December 16 by members of the nearby Scottsdale Airpark-based AXA Advisors Southwest team as part of the firm’s yearlong commitment to the Clubs.

“Throughout 2013, we worked with the Clubs on several events – including their Celebrity Invitational and our own Weekend Jetaway Casino Gala – with the goal of generating funds to help kids like Kailey continue to take part in all of the sports, health, educational, arts-focused programming the branches have to offer,” said Morgan D. Keil of AXA Advisors Southwest. “This final donation to Kailey was on behalf of our team in thanks for her being one of our event ‘kid captains’ earlier this year.”

On the heels of this donation, AXA Foundation is also pleased to announce they will award up to twelve $2,000 AXA Achievementsm Community Scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live and attend high school in their area. The 2014 AXA Achievementsm Community Scholarship Program reaches communities in which AXA Advisors has a presence.

The program is part of AXA Achievement, AXA Foundation’s national philanthropic initiative, which helps make college possible by proving access and advice.  The program has awarded over $22.8 million in scholarships to more than 5,100 students across the country.

Through AXA Achievement, AXA Equitable is one of the nation’s largest corporate providers of scholarships — awarding more than $1.3 million a year — and a comprehensive resource for information to help students and parents plan for college. AXA Achievement scholarship winners —  known as AXA Achievers — are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities: ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and the ability to succeed in college.

The online scholarship application is available at www.axa-achievement.com and must be submitted by February 1, 2014.  All AXA Achievers are selected by Scholarship Management Services®, a program of Scholarship America®, the leading nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization.

In addition to the AXA Achievementsm Community Scholarship Program, AXA Equitable also awards $670,000 in annual scholarships through its highly successful AXA Achievementsm Scholarship, in association with U.S. News & World Report.

“The Arizona branch has a history of community involvement and we are proud to provide information and support to families so that they may help their children financially prepare for, attend and succeed in college,” commented Dillan Micus, executive vice president of AXA Advisors Southwest.  “AXA Advisors is about investments and we consider these scholarships an investment in these students and in our community.”
