(PHOENIX - June 19, 2017) — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Cathleen T. Yu, a partner in the firm’s Phoenix office, has been named among the “Most Impactful Minority Leaders of 2017” by AZ Big Media. Yu was honored with fellow leaders in the June issue of AZ Business Magazine, available now.
Yu is a member of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group. She represents institutional investors including tax-exempt organizations such as foundations, universities, pension funds, and hospitals in connection with their investment activities, as well as clients in mergers and acquisitions, securities and other business transactions in industries including health care, restaurant, aviation, education, financial services, manufacturing, and biotechnology. Yu serves on board of directors for Children's Action Alliance, an independent voice for Arizona children and families at the state capitol and the community, and was recently elected to the Executive Council of the State Bar of Arizona Business Law Section. In her role, Yu works to promote the objectives of the State Bar of Arizona within the area of business law; simplify and improve the application of justice in the field; promote the legal education of members of the Bar; and otherwise further the interests of the State Bar of Arizona and the legal profession as a whole.
She received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of Chicago.
