I've had the chance to speak to Wendy Hultsman's special-events management class at ASU West for the past 10 or so years. The first time the class was about six people and they came to my office. The class now numbers close to 30 and I go out to them.
Today's class was engaged, articulate and asked some great questions. The usual stuff about resumes and salaries of course, but they also wanted to know how we pitch clients, have we ever been burned by providing great ideas and not getting the work, conflict of interest challenges and hiring non-traditional communications professionals.
The two hours just flew by and I look forward to these students being out in the work force. We will definitely have some talented folks to choose from.
