The Arizona Republic has unveiled a new look.

One of the most noticeable changes is the elimination of super-small type in places like the box scores, weather page and stock reports.

That tells me that those who participated in the publication's focus groups and "tell us what you like and don't like discussions" are all at the age where seeing agate type is becoming increasingly difficult. These are great improvements.

Let's hope that we don't soon also see the ramifications of the massive layoffs that have been underway at The Republic with fewer reporters and editors having to cover and oversee more things.
