This past weekend, Team HMA participated in another of its 30 community acts to commemorate its 30th anniversary – a bowl-o-rama to raise funds for Angels on Patrol, a new local non-profit focused on supporting families in crisis and youth who have either been abused or neglected, and/or whose caregivers are facing extreme financial hardship.

After bowling ZERO for multiple frames, HMAer Alison finished her game with a turkey to tie HMA friend Steph DiStefano for high score – 142. HMAers Abbie and Beth as well as HMA mom Carol Bailin were pretty much clutch all day, bowling strikes and spares at will and finishing well into the 100s.

And then there was HMA intern Hayley. We hired her for many reasons – brains, wit, organization, attention to detail, ambition – but bowling was not on the list. But, she does get an A for her great attitude!

Our fellow PR friends from Crosby Wright also took part, as well as a client, the Arizona Bridge to Independent Living, and about 40 others teams. Together, we helped raise more than $4,000 for the organization.

“All of the money raised during our bowl-o-rama, which was the first-ever fundraising event for our organization, will be used for families and children in crisis as identified by Phoenix Police officers,” said Angels on Patrol board member and Local News Share managing director Jennifer Jones. “It could be something as minor as providing a pair of glasses for a child who needs them up to providing funds for life-saving medicine for a member of a needing family.”

Up next for HMA’s 30th anniversary “giving back” celebration? A mall walk for a good cause – will you join us? Here is how.
